Frequently Asked Questions
How do I use my wax melts?
Simply pop a small amount of your chosen scent into the well of your warmer/burner. Place an unscented 4 hour tealight under the well of your burner. Light your tealight and the fragrance will release within a few minutes. Once the fragrance has worn off, change your melt and repeat.
What is the easiest way to remove the wax from my burner?
As our melts are made using a parasoy blend, we find the easiest way to clean the old wax out of your warmer/burner is to use a couple of cotton pads or balls to soak the wax up before it hardens, then wipe it around with another clean pad/ball to clean off any residue. This method works for both Tealight and Electric warmers.
Does wax evaporate?
No. The only part of the melt that evaporates is the fragrance oil. You will occassionally see some wisps of white 'smoke' coming from your warmer, this is the fragrance oil evaporating, this is more likely to happen if you are using a burner thats smaller than recommended for wax, or a tealight thats a bit big for your warmer.
Is paraffin wax toxic?
No. It is a common misconception that soy wax is non-toxic and paraffin is. At The Wee Butterfly we use a carefully tested blend of both soy and paraffin to give you the best scent experience.
What are Aroma Beads?
Aroma beads are small poly beads that absorb fragrance oil. We package ours in small organza bags and they are perfect to use as wardrobe or drawer fresheners, pop them inside your shoes when they are stored, we even have some customers who like to use them as car fresheners.
What are Simmering Granules?
Simmering Granules are a fabulous, mess free alternative to wax, simply pop a spoonful or two into the well of your warmer and we make ours with Himalayan Pink Salt or Granular Salt.
